Soundcraft MFXi 20 Series Mixer

The MFXi Series offers a great feature set in a compact, affordable console that focuses on high performance. It is available in three standard models to provide a choice of eight, twelve or twenty mono inputs with each model also featuring two stereo inputs. For increased versatility, each model in the MFXi range has two subgroups as well as a main stereo mix to make control of groups of channels much easier to manage. These are supplemented by 2 Auxiliary busses which can be used for external effects sends or to provide a foldback monitor mix for artists. A third bus provides the internal effects send.

The MFXi Series is intended for a wide range of applications including fixed installations, houses of worship, portable live sound use and music production. It is an ideal console for School applications.

The MFXi mixers are empowered by built-in 24-bit Lexicon processing, delivering 32 stunning reverb, delay and chorus effects. All MFXi mixers include 2 stereo input channels along with a 2-track record output and a 2-track replay input which allows interval music to be easily played from CD, MP3 or other music source. Sound quality is assured by Soundcraft’s now-legendary GB30 mic preamp and a globally switched +48V phantom power supply enables the use of professional condenser microphones. New circuit designs have improved the audio quality while lowering the overall noise floor of the console and FX sections. An integral universal power supply means there is no need for an external power brick.

Faders

The same high quality 60 mm stroke faders found on other Soundcraft consoles are used for all input channel faders and the Mix output faders on the MFXi Series mixers.

Aux Busses

The MFXi Series features two Aux Sends, each of which has its own master level control. Mono Inputs Eq Section

On the mono inputs, equalisation is split into three bands. The shelving HF control provides 15dB of cut or boost for frequencies above 12kHz. A swept mid frequency control enables frequencies from 150Hz to 3.5kHz to be adjusted with up to 15dB of cut or boost at the selected frequency. Frequencies below 80Hz can be adjusted with the LF control, which features 15dB of cut or boost.

Stereo Inputs Eq Section

For the stereo inputs, there are three fixed shelving controls, adjusting HF signals at 12kHz, MF signals at 720Hz and LF signals at 80Hz by 15dB.
